I'm having trouble with the 2FA code

Modified on Mon, 27 Apr at 2:57 PM

If the code from your 2FA app isn't working when you log in to Airtm, follow these steps in order:

Step 1 — Sync your app's time. The most common cause is a time mismatch. In Google Authenticator, go to Settings > Time correction for codes > Sync now. In Authy, time syncs automatically — try restarting the app if the code still fails.

Step 2 — Make sure you're using the right code. If you have multiple accounts in your 2FA app, check that you're using the code for Airtm, not another platform.

Step 3 — Wait for a new code. Each code is valid for 30 seconds. If there are fewer than 5 seconds left when you enter it, wait for the next code before trying again.

Step 4 — Reinstall your 2FA app. If the steps above don't help, uninstall and reinstall Google Authenticator or Authy, then re-link your Airtm account by scanning the QR code in Settings > Security.

Lost access to your phone or app?

If you no longer have access to the device where your 2FA app was set up, you won't be able to generate codes on your own. In that case:

  1. Go to the Airtm login screen.
  2. Select Reset 2FA.
  3. Follow the account recovery process.

If you can't find that option or the process doesn't work, send a ticket to our support team at support@airtm.io explaining that you've lost access to your 2FA. The team will guide you through recovering your account securely.
