What is Two-Factor Authentication or 2FA?

Modified on Mon, 27 Apr at 2:57 PM

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security for your Airtm account. To log in you need two things: your password (something you know) and a temporary code generated on your phone (something you have). Even if someone gets your password, they can't access your account without that second factor.

What are Google Authenticator and Authy?

Google Authenticator and Authy are free apps that generate the 6-digit verification codes you need for 2FA. You can install either one from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). The choice is yours — both work equally well with Airtm.

How do I turn on 2FA in Airtm?

Go to Settings > Security in your Airtm account and follow the instructions to enable Two-Factor Authentication. You'll find the step-by-step guide in How do I enable 2FA on my Airtm account?
