Your US Virtual Account accepts two types of transfers from US bank accounts: ACH and Wire. Here's how each one works.
What does the sender need to transfer funds to you?
Regardless of the transfer type, share these details from your US Virtual Account:
- Account holder name
- Routing Number (ABA)
- Account number
- Recipient bank name and address
Make sure the details are accurate before sharing — a mistake can cause the transfer to be rejected or returned.
ACH transfers
ACH transfers are the most common and affordable way to receive funds from a US bank account. There are two ways to receive them:
From your own US bank account
- Maximum per transfer: $100,000 USD
- Processing time: 1 to up to 5 business days
From a third party
- Who can send? Any person or company with a US bank account
- Maximum per transfer: $2,000 USD
- Processing time: 1 to up to 5 business days
- Cost to sender: typically free or very low fee depending on their bank
Once credited, funds appear directly in your Airtm balance.
Wire transfers
Wire transfers are ideal for larger amounts or when you need faster processing.
- Minimum amount: $1,501 USD
- Maximum amount: $100,000 USD
- Exchange rate: $1 USD = $1 USDC
- Fee: 1.75% variable on the amount received
- Processing time: 1 business day
Important: If the amount is below $1,501 USD, the transfer may be delayed or rejected. Always let the sender know the minimum before they initiate the transfer.
What do I do with the funds once they arrive?
With money in your Airtm account you can:
- Convert it to your local currency via Airtm's P2P network or through our direct withdrawal options
- Send it to other users
- Withdraw it to whichever payment method is available in your region
